MEET US

Historically undertaking an underground project has been perceived as risky, expensive and maybe too challenging. “If possible, should be avoided” I have heard so many times. Why would we – Skava and its team- stay motivated by doing something others want to avoid?

Our driver is understanding that underground construction will always bring much more benefits to society as a whole – our clients, the communities, the environment, etc. – than having the same structure or facility on surface.

Just think of how many mountains, recreational spaces, archeological sites, coastal riches, unpolluted neighborhoods are kept untouched by putting things below ground.

On the other hand, we can connect places, help so many people get home earlier to their beloved ones, bring the ever-scarcer water and clean energy our communities and industries need. All this is many times made possible by developing underground projects.

Mining key metals is essential for electro mobility and moving away from fossil fuels. It’s a prerequisite for bending our global warming trend, that process will increasingly have to be underground. For many reasons: economics, environment, social requirements, and others.

All of the above is what makes every project we do a fascinating job.
